“Hunter Marks The Spot” will be my signature vlog series. It combines several things naturally: travel, geography, adventure, storytelling, random acts of kindness, and my personal brand. I travel across the United States and other countries, visiting unique regions and finding one person, organization, community, or business to help in each place I go. I’m not simply handing someone money. I’m finding a story. “Who deserves a little kindness here?”
The mascot of my series will be “Spot”: The Kindness Gator. The acronym for my episode structure is GATOR as well: The geography, the adventure, the trial-and-error, the observations, the random act of kindness.
THE GEOGRAPHY
“Before this episode, I've already visited a number of places in a number of states. Today, I'm marking another spot.”
THE ADVENTURE
“I'm going to spend the next 24 hours finding someone in (this state) who deserves a little kindness.”
Driving
Airports
Highways
Landscapes
Restaurants
Interesting landmarks
State signs
Local attractions
Funny things that happen
I don't need the entire episode to be about giving.
The journey is part of the story.
THE TRIAL-AND-ERROR
Instead of simply walking around looking for a random person, I can use several methods.
Method A — Completely random
I encounter someone naturally.
Method B — Ask locals
“Who's someone around here who really deserves a surprise?”
This could create a chain:
Person → recommendation → another person → eventual recipient
Method C — Viewer nominations
My audience submits people.
Method D — Local organizations
I contact nonprofits, schools, community organizations, etc.
THE OBSERVATIONS
Suppose I’m in a random state. I met a small-town restaurant worker who has been working two jobs while caring for family.
Rather than: “Here's $500!” I spend time learning about them.
Then I figure out what would actually help.
THE RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS
Maybe:
Pay their grocery bill
Buy them a hotel room for a night
Give them a gift card
Pay for a car repair
Buy something from their business
Take them out to dinner
Give them tickets to an event
Help their community project
The reward should fit the person, which makes every episode different.
Long-form videos / 10–20 minutes: “I Spent 24 Hours Doing Kindness in (a state)”
Shorts / 30–60 seconds: “I Bought This Stranger's Lunch”
Travel vlogs: “Driving Across (a state) Looking for Someone to Help”
Emotional stories: “The Kindest Teacher in America”
Challenges: “Can $20 Change Someone's Day?”
Community episodes: “I Asked a Small Town Who Needed Help”
I'd make a rule:
Kindness isn't measured by dollars.
One episode might involve $500.
Another might cost $5.
Another might cost $0.
For example:
“I spent the day volunteering at an animal shelter.”
That's still an act of kindness.
I could even have categories:
Type Example
Financial Pay someone's bill
Food Buy someone lunch
Business Support a local business
Service Help someone with a task
Gift Give something meaningful
Volunteer Help an organization
Emotional Listen to someone's story
Community Improve a public space
This prevents my channel from becoming a competition over who can give away the most money.
HUNTER MARKS THE SPOT
The location itself is part of every episode. At the end, I could say: “This is where kindness happened.” Then put a marker on the map.
📍 MARKED!
I could even have a physical map where I place a pin for every act. That creates a very satisfying visual progression.
CONCLUSION
This could eventually become a community rather than just a channel.
Ask viewers: “Do you know someone who deserves a kind surprise?” They submit stories. I pick one.
Then:
“This week's story came from one of my viewers in (a state).”
I travel there and surprise the person.
Now my viewers aren't just watching. They're helping me decide where to go and who to help.
I'd avoid making the channel: “Look how generous I am.”
Instead make it: “Look at how amazing people are.”
I am essentially the guide/narrator who discovers interesting people, changing the emotional tone. The hero of each episode isn't necessarily me. It's the person I found.
